From Awareness to Alignment
Breaking the habits that keep you stuck and reclaiming your path
Hello mama 🤍
How has your week been?
This week brought a proud mama moment — one I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
My daughter conquered a fear.
She’s wanted to do this thing since last year, since starting kindergarten. She would watch her friends join in, but she would sit back, telling herself things like “I’m shy” or “that’s scary.”
Those words became a door she kept closing on herself.
But last week… something shifted.
She did the thing.
She got up and danced in front of all her peers at assembly. A full-circle moment — something she had watched others do so many times, but never felt brave enough to step into herself.
And the smile on her face when she told me… it melted my heart.
Because the truth is — this little girl doesn’t just love dance.
She embodies it. She lives it. It’s a part of her.
After all, she has a Pisces Moon — the rhythm, the expression, the emotion of a dancer lives within her.
So I’ll keep encouraging her.
Not to push… but to support her confidence.
To remind her not to shrink when fear starts to rise.
Right now, she says she wants to be a dancer when she grows up — and maybe she will, maybe she won’t.
But my encouragement?
That’s the thing that will keep her going if she chooses to.
Â
But there’s something deeper I want to touch on.
You might have noticed I mentioned the words she used — “I’m shy”, “that’s scary.”
These weren’t just passing thoughts.
They were patterns.
And over time, they became a habit she started using against herself.
My little girl is a Virgo… and perfectionism is her Achilles’ heel.
Virgo energy rules the 6th house — the space of daily habits, routines, and self-talk.
And in her chart, this isn’t light energy.
This sits alongside a cluster of personal planets — her Sun, Venus, and Mars.
So these patterns don’t just live in her mind.
They shape:
• her identity
• how she loves and values herself
• how she takes action
And as her mother… I can see the path this could lead her down.
Which means I also have the responsibility to gently guide her —
so those patterns don’t become limitations.
Â
And this actually stems from a podcast I listened to the other day that really opened my eyes.
Honestly… it felt like a punch in the gut.
Your habits keep you stuck.
The comfort of familiarity draws you in.
And patterns take shape before you even realise it.
And it got me thinking…
Have you ever noticed how something in your day-to-day becomes a rhythm of “must” instead of a rhythm of need?
Like…
“I’ve done the housework, now I’ll scroll Instagram for 10 minutes… then I’ll get to the important task.”
But let’s be real.
Is it ever really 10 minutes?
Or does that scroll stretch… and suddenly the time you had set aside is gone?
And what happens over time?
That small moment becomes a habit.
That habit becomes normal.
And now you’re doing it without even thinking.
And that “stolen time”?
It adds up.
It slowly pulls you away from:
• your dreams
• your stability
• the life you’re trying to build
All because, at some point, you were avoiding something.
And in that avoidance… a pattern was created.
One that quietly keeps you out of alignment.
One that doesn’t support your evolution.
And I’ll be honest — I do this too.
This isn’t about shame.
This is about awareness.
Because sometimes all it takes… is that one lightbulb moment ✨
The kind that shifts your perspective
and actually guides you through change.
Not the kind that fizzles out, leaving you back at square one —
repeating the same loop.
Because we don’t want that.
Forward is the mission.
Â
And this is where steps come in.
Goals… broken down into actionable steps.
But here’s the truth —
step one is everything.
And this is where most people slip.
We try to rush.
We try to jump ahead.
But if you haven’t embodied step one…
you can’t sustain step two.
And that’s how we fall back into old patterns.
Â
So this is where we bring it back to astrology.
We look at the 6th house — your habits, your routines, your daily patterns.
Yes, planets add depth.
But the real power?
Understanding the ruler of your 6th house.
And learning the difference between your healthy and unhealthy expressions of that energy.
Here’s how this may show up for you:
Â
Healthy habits — the ones that support your evolution:
Aries — taking initiative, backing yourself, starting without overthinking
Taurus — consistency, stability, grounded routines
Gemini — curiosity, learning, adaptable thinking
Cancer — self-nurturing, emotional awareness, safe spaces
Leo — confidence, self-expression, heart-led action
Virgo — supportive routines, organisation, refinement
Libra — balance, aligned decisions, healthy boundaries
Scorpio — inner work, emotional honesty, release
Sagittarius — expansion, exploration, trust in the bigger picture
Capricorn — discipline, long-term focus, commitment
Aquarius — innovation, individuality, future vision
Pisces — intuition, creativity, spiritual connection
Â
Unhealthy habits — the ones that keep you stuck:
Aries — impulsiveness, inconsistency, frustration
Taurus — resistance to change, comfort zone attachment
Gemini — distraction, inconsistency, avoidance through busyness
Cancer — emotional avoidance, clinging to the past
Leo — validation-seeking, fear of being seen
Virgo — perfectionism, self-criticism, overthinking
Libra — people-pleasing, indecision, avoidance of conflict
Scorpio — control, suppression, holding onto resentment
Sagittarius — escapism, avoidance of responsibility
Capricorn — overworking, rigidity, burnout
Aquarius — emotional detachment, disconnection
Pisces — escapism, lack of boundaries, avoidance
Â
Now pause here.
What sign rules your 6th house?
(Not the planets — just the zodiac ruler.)
Write it down.
Then ask yourself:
What helps me move forward?
What keeps me stuck?
This might feel confronting.
But it’s necessary.
Â
Then ask:
How am I going to change this?
What is the first step?
Make it small.
Make it achievable.
That’s how real change begins.
Â
And get your kids involved too 🤍
They can benefit from this just as much — just reframe it in a way they understand.
Â
you’re recognising these patterns in yourself…
I have a self-paced program coming — a 14-day process to help you build this skill and create lasting change.
And if you’re ready to go deeper —
to truly break patterns and rediscover yourself —
My Rediscovery Mentorship is open.
Â
Remember…
Don’t add pressure to yourself.
Be gentle.
Be aware.
And focus on the slow build — not the quick fix.
Â
Until next time 🤍
With love,
Ebony
